Ed Oliver
The expectations for Ed Oliver entering last season was at an all-time high. He was a Top 10 pick, stepping into an already premier defense and asked to replace long-time Buffalo Bill, Kyle Williams who retired after the season.
Unfortunately for Oliver his rookie season got off to a rocky start. He didn’t produce much to start the year and was losing playing time. However, he was able to turn it around and finished the year exceptionally well. He had a stretch of four games with five sacks and became a key part of the defense.
Entering this year, there shouldn’t be much question about Oliver’s place in this defense and he won’t have to compete with Jordan Phillips for snaps this season. If he is able to build off the second half of last year, Oliver could find his way into next year’s rankings.
