Predicting the Buffalo Bills 2020 Depth Chart: Linebacker
By Daniel Bruce
Even with the retirement of Lorenzo Alexander, the linebacker position is still in good shape for the Buffalo Bills.
At linebacker for the Buffalo Bills, Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano are one of the best young pairings in the NFL at the position. The team could potentially be setup for the foreseeable future at the position with the two young studs.
Outside of the young tandem, the talent drops off for the Buffalo Bills starting with A.J. Klein at the SAM linebacker position, who isn’t anything to write home about.
The Bills also brought in Tyler Matakevich through free agency, but he is just a special teams ace and hopefully nothing more. While he was a 2019 fifth-round pick, Vosean Joseph will be welcomed additions to the fold this season after missing his full rookie season with a shoulder injury.
Corey Thompson returns as a core special teamer who has the capability to take on some snaps on the defensive side of the ball. While younger players who are looking to prove they belong in the NFL in Tyrel Dodson, Del’Shawn Phillips and Mike Bell.
The Buffalo Bills don’t have a ton of certainty other than their starters at the position and will have to hope for one of their young linebackers waiting in the background to take on a bigger role.
