These are seven players the Buffalo Bills may cut to get down to the 80 player max roster size by mid-August.

The NFL and NFLPA finally came to an agreement on changes for training camp and the upcoming season. The two sides agreed to no preseason games, increased practice squad sizes to 16 players and all teams, including the Buffalo Bills, must cut their roster down to 80 players by August 16th.

Most teams are likely going to try to cut their rosters down sooner because NFL teams are not allowed to have more than 80 players in the building at one time. Any team with more would likely have to create shifts for players to come into their facilities.

For the Buffalo Bills, they currently have 87 players on their roster, which is four below their allotted total due to Christian Wade’s roster exemption. The fact the Bills do have fewer certainly helps them now as they have to begin cutting the roster.

This offseason presents a different challenge because the Buffalo Bills have not had a chance to work with any free agents or rookies that were added. While there are a number of undrafted rookies that likely won’t make the 53-man roster, the coaching staff would probably like to see them work out in person before releasing them.

Another potential hurdle is with no preseason games, they may struggle to build out the 16-man practice squad because they won’t be able to scout other team’s players. When the Buffalo Bills build their practice squad, it will likely be with players that they are familiar with and may not need to see more from them in a practice situation.

These are the seven players that will likely be cut by the Buffalo Bills to get down to the league mandated 80 players by August 16th.
