Primary Backup: Ty Nsekhe

Nsekhe was really solid for the Buffalo Bills last season when he had to provide stability at the right tackle position when Ford would struggle.

Appearing in 10 games, and starting one, Nsekhe didn’t go without playing meaningful snaps. He finished the year playing 34% of the snaps in the games he appeared in. Being very sound in pass protection, allowing zero sacks during the season and proving to be more than just a reliable option.

While Ford was much stronger than Nsekhe in the run game, the veteran was much better than the rookie in pass protection.

At almost 35 years old, Nsekhe isn’t getting any younger, but with just six seasons in the NFL under his belt, the lack of wear and tear should help him play longer into his 30s.

Backup (Fourth-String): Daryl Williams

The former second team All-Pro from 2017, Williams has fallen off since his breakout season, not entirely due to his own doing. The following season the injury bug hit Williams and he only ended up playing one game.

In 2019, the veteran tackle moved to guard due to injuries and struggled immensely, while never looking comfortable.

Having a woeful 56.1 grade according to PFF, while also allowing 12 sacks which ranked second-last in the whole league. Williams will have to be much improved if he wants to make a name for himself on the roster.
