What if the Buffalo Bills actually drafted Russell Wilson in the 2012 NFL Draft?

Recently, Tim Graham at The Athletic wrote an article after an interview with Buddy Nix, who was the Buffalo Bills general manager in 2012, that the team had Russell Wilson on their draft board and viewed him as the team’s ‘savior’.

There is no question that this certainly stings a bit to hear for Buffalo Bills fans as the quarterback position has been one the team struggled for so many years to address in the NFL Draft. It feels like since the days of Jim Kelly, the franchise would go between young quarterbacks in the draft and veterans who were expected to just be bridges to the next young quarterback.

If the Bills would have selected Russell Wilson they would have found their long-term answer at the position but would have had multiple other changes throughout the franchise. The current Seattle Seahawks quarterback has become one of the best quarterbacks in the league and has reached the Pro Bowl seven times and was the starting quarterback when the Seahawks won Super Bowl XLVIII.

It raises the question, what might the Buffalo Bills look like if they selected Russell Wilson in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft instead of wide receiver T.J. Graham? This is hypothetically some of the things that would have been different for the Bills since that Draft.
