Josh Norman
There was a time where Josh Norman was considered one of the best lockdown cornerbacks in the NFL. His stint with the Panthers is probably best remembered for his contributions on the team’s 2015 Super Bowl run.
That season, Norman accounted for four interceptions and three forced fumbles, returning two of those turnovers for touchdowns. His performance that year garnered him multiple post-season accolades including a Pro-Bowl nod as well as a spot on the NFL’s All-Pro team.
After 2015, the Panthers rescinded their franchise tag on Norman, effectively making him a free agent. In 2016, he signed with Washington and has played the past four seasons for the team. While at times he has put up respectable numbers, Norman still has not been able to return to the elite level of play he was at in 2015.
There is hope for Josh Norman yet. He signed with the Buffalo Bills in free agency this year and he will be reuniting with his former defensive coordinator in head coach Sean McDermott. Now that he is returning to a familiar system, the sky is the limit for Norman.
However, cornerback position is already loaded with talents, as Norman is set to play opposite to reigning All-Pro Tre’Davious White as well as other cornerbacks like Levi Wallace and E.J. Gaines. If Josh Norman wants to prove that he is capable of elite level play, then he will only have a few weeks to do so before the start of the 2020 season.
If his work pays off, the Bills have a shot at having the best duo of cornerbacks in the league with Josh Norman and Tre’Davious White, adding to an already elite secondary.
