Can Daryl Williams return to 2017 form?
One of the under-the-radar moves the Buffalo Bills made this offseason that could pay huge dividends was their signing of offensive tackle Daryl Williams. The former Carolina Panthers tackle looked to be a rising star at the position in 2017, when he earned second-team All-Pro honors in his third season in the league.
However, his career has hit a speed bump recently after he suffered a knee injury during training camp in 2018. He returned for one game but re-aggravated the injury that forced him to miss the remainder of the year.
Then this past season, Williams was forced to play all along the offensive line due to injuries the Panthers were forced to deal with. He didn’t have the same success since he was forced to play numerous positions.
Entering 2020, it appears that Daryl Williams is going to have the chance to focus solely on the right tackle position and being two years removed from the knee injury could mean he is set to regain that 2017 form. If he is able to win the starting right tackle job, it raises this next question.
