The Buffalo Bills were able to re-sign Quinton Spain this offseason and they will have all five starters from last year under contract heading into training camp. The fact that they are bringing all starters back is certainly a plus and should help them get off to a fast start to the season.

If there is one position that could be up for grabs it would probably be at right tackle. Last year, rookie Cody Ford was the primary starter with Ty Nsekhe rotating in until he suffered an injury late in the year. While Ford was the starter, he did go through some growing pains as a rookie and will need to improve, specifically in pass protection, to hold onto the job.

Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills signed free agent tackle Daryl Williams this offseason to provide depth but he could end up being the answer at right tackle. The former Carolina Panthers’ tackle got off to a promising start to his career after the Panthers selected him in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

The 2017 season was by far his best performance as he started all 16 games at right tackle and earned a second-team All-Pro selection. However, a knee injury in training camp in 2018 derailed that season and this past year, the Panthers moved Williams around on the line to account for injuries to other players.

If Daryl Williams is allowed to focus on just right tackle, it would not be surprising to see him take that job from Cody Ford.
