Can Dawson Knox take that next step?

One of the big questions for the tight end position, and for the offense as a whole, is can Dawson Knox take that next step in his second season in the NFL? When the Bills selected Knox in the third round last year the belief was that he was raw but had a tremendous athletic profile that over time could help him develop into a dynamic tight end.

However, the injuries to Tyler Kroft and Jason Croom didn’t allow Knox to slowly ease into the gameplan and he quickly became the starting tight end. He finished the year with 28 receptions, 388 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

The hope is that this year he can continue, and surpass, this production but there is one big area he will need to fix for that to happen. The dropped passes for Knox is well documented and this coming season it is going to be even more crucial for him to avoid these mistakes.

The reason is because with Stefon Diggs now in the offense, he may not see as many targets as he did as a rookie. If his targets do decrease then he has to make sure when he gets those passes from Josh Allen that he brings them in.

If Dawson Knox is able to fix the drops, he could be in line for a big year even if targets do decrease.
