Rushing Yards

Last year, the Buffalo Bills entered the season with Frank Gore as their starter but it was rookie Devin Singletary that lead the way on the ground as he finished with 775 rushing yards, even though he finished the year with fewer rushing attempts than Gore.

Entering this season, the Bills saw Gore leave in free agency and join the New York Jets and to replace him they drafted Zack Moss in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Buffalo Bills reporter Maddy Glab recently wrote that the Bills want to use Moss in a similar role to what was expected of Gore last year. If that is the case, then the race for most rushing yards on the Bills will be a close battle between Moss and Singletary.

Last year, the Buffalo Bills almost split rushing attempts evenly between the two backs, even though Singletary was the more productive back. Now the fact that Singletary missed time due to an injury certainly played a factor in the rushing attempts but the Bills wouldn’t use a third round pick on Moss to see him just be a complimentary back to Singletary.

The race will be close but Devin Singletary should get off to a fast start and that should be enough for him to finish the year the rushing leader, even if he loses carries as the year goes on to Zack Moss.
