Sign DeShone Kizer

The first player on this list is DeShone Kizer, who was selected in the second round by the Cleveland Browns in 2017. He would go on to start 15 games as a rookie for the Browns and failed to win a single game as he threw for 2,894 yards, 11 touchdowns and 22 interceptions.

He would end up being traded to the Green Bay Packers prior to the 2018 season and appeared in three games for them. The Packers released Kizer prior to the 2019 season and he spent the past year with the Raiders but is now currently a free agent.

Entering the NFL, Kizer was considered very raw but had good upside. This is why it is hard to evaluate the former Notre Dame quarterback based on his time with the Cleveland Browns. He likely wasn’t ready to step in as a starting quarterback as a rookie, and he had a less than stellar supporting cast of Corey Coleman, Ricardo Louis, Randall Telfer and Isaiah Crowell.

While Kizer doesn’t have playoff experience, the physical characteristics is hard to overlook as a quarterback with good arm strength but also a threat on the ground. Brian Daboll likely would need to dial the playbook back a bit but they wouldn’t have to take any plays out with a player like DeShone Kizer under center.
