Nate Becker
The Buffalo Bills added Nate Becker last offseason after he was cut by the Detroit Lions, who he signed with as an undrafted free agent. The former Miami (OH) tight end spent training camp with the Bills last year and saw some increased reps with injuries to Dawson Knox, Jason Croom, and Tyler Kroft last offseason.
The Bills released Becker before the start of the season but he stayed on the team’s practice squad for the duration of last season. The fact that the Bills coaching staff had a chance to see what Becker could do in practice last year actually hurts his chances to make it to training camp.
At this point, with the Bills already having depth at the position with Knox, Kroft and Tommy Sweeney, the chances of Becker making the final roster have to be considered a long shot. This is why if the Buffalo Bills elect to cut players before the start of training camp, that Nate Becker is likely in this group.
