The Buffalo Bills have the seventh most travel miles in the upcoming NFL season.

Considering the fact that the Buffalo Bills were going to be facing the NFC West and AFC West this upcoming season, the expectation was that the travel schedule was going to be tough. A recent article on CBS Sports tallied all the travel miles for NFL teams, and the Bills will have the seventh most this upcoming season with 20,066 miles.

This is a significant increase over last season when the Bills traveled only 8,710 miles, which was the third fewest among NFL teams, ahead of only the New York Giants with 8,112 miles and the New York Jets with 6,730 miles.

The challenging part for the Bills is that they have four games in either the Pacific or Mountain time zone with road games against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Arizona Cardinals, the San Francisco 49ers, and Denver Broncos.

One thing that NFL teams try to do to ease travel is when they have back to back games on long road trips, they will remain in that area. However, the Buffalo Bills schedule doesn’t provide them that opportunity as the only back to back road games come in Week 4 and Week 5 when the Bills travel to Las Vegas to face the Raiders then have an away game against the Tennessee Titans.

The other back to back road games come in Week 15 and Week 16 with a trip to Denver to face the Broncos then a road game against the New England Patriots.

It is also interesting to note that the four teams that have to travel the most (Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams and Miami Dolphins) all travel to Buffalo to face the Bills this upcoming season. The Seahawks lead the league in travel miles with 28,982 miles.
