Starter: Joe Thuney, New England Patriots (Left Guard)

This selection took no hesitation as Joe Thuney has been renowned as one of the best guards in football over the last couple seasons. The Patriots showed how much Thuney means to the team when they signed him to the franchise tag this offseason.

Thuney is one of the best pass blocking guards in the NFL, due to his great athleticism he is hard to beat to the open areas. Thuney finished the season with an 87.4 pass blocking grade and an overall grade of 77.4 per PFF. Thuney does get overpowered in the run game occasionally where he can get overpowered but his strengths far outweigh his flaws.

Starter: David Andrews, New England Patriots (Center)

David Andrews missed the whole 2019 season due to blood clots, but is very optimistic about playing in 2020. Andrews had been a very capable starter for his first four years in New England where he developed into a top 10 center in the league.

Through his two seasons before 2019, Andrews was hovering around the 80’s in overall grade from PFF, a sign of a very good player. A two time Super Bowl champion in four years of starting Andrews is very deserving of the top center spot in the AFC East.

Starter: Shaq Mason, New England Patriots (Right Guard)

Completing the Patriots sweep of the interior line, Shaq Mason is a force on a strong Patriots offensive line. Standing at just 6’1″ Mason uses his low center of gravity to plow open holes in the run game where he thrives. Mason had a bit of a down year in 2019 still standing out as the best in the division, surrendering 2 sacks and posting an overall grade of 73 down from 83.6 from just a year ago by PFF.

Mason should bounce back and return to his old form for the 2020 season claiming the spot as the best right guard in the AFC East.
