This is a closer look at Buffalo Bills undrafted free agent signing, running back Antonio Williams.

Even though the Buffalo Bills added Zack Moss during the 2020 NFL Draft, this didn’t stop them from signing another running back once the Draft was over. UNC Antonio Williams is an intriguing prospect that could make an impact this year. This is a quick profile of one of the latest Buffalo Bills.

Antonio Williams

College: University of North Carolina

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 215 pounds

Stats

Antonio Williams start out his collegiate career at Ohio State but struggled to find consistent playing time with the Buckeyes. He elected to transfer to UNC after the 2017 season and had his best year in 2018 when he ran for 504 rushing yards and five touchdowns. That year he also had his best success as a pass catcher with 16 receptions and 131 receiving yards.

The one thing that is clear is that he is an explosive runner, as evident of his highlights below, but also considering the fact that he averaged over five rushing yards per carry the last three years in college.

Highlights

How would he fit with the Buffalo Bills?

The addition of Antonio Williams gives the Bills a little bigger running back than what they have with Devin Singletary and Zack Moss, with both being 5’9″. He also has shown some good breakaway speed and explosive playmaking.

The running back depth chart is pretty much up in the air after Singletary and Moss. If Antonio Williams performs well leading up to the 2020 season, it wouldn’t be surprising at all for him to get the final roster spot if he can show value on special teams.

At the very least though, he should be on the Buffalo Bills practice squad and with a year to develop be ready to contribute to this backfield.
