Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane joined the Pat McAfee Show on Friday discussing a wide range of topics.

On Friday, the Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane sat down with Pat McAfee for nearly a half hour touching on a wide range of different topics. It was really interesting to hear Beane’s perspective and provide some insight into things that fans typically don’t see.

A majority of the beginning of the interview was centered around Josh Allen and the importance Brandon Beane put on getting his guy at quarterback after getting the job with the Bills. Beane talked about how much he liked Josh Allen during the draft process starting out with the obvious physical attributes like the prototypical size, arm strength but spent a majority of the time talking about the person he is.

The Buffalo Bills general manager praised Allen for just how smart he was, mentioning he got a 31 on the Wonderlic test. However, he also talked about a test that offensive coordinator Brian Daboll put Allen, along with the other quarterbacks they met with leading up to the 2018 NFL Draft. During that test, Daboll would discuss portions of the playbook with the quarterbacks and ask them to leave the room and write plays and formations on the board and the players would have about 30 seconds to match the plays to the formation.

Brandon Beane did say that Josh Allen performed very well in this test.

Pat McAfee also asked about Cam Newton and mentioned that former linebacker Lorenzo Alexander said that he didn’t feel Newton would fit within the culture. It sounded like Brandon Beane agreed and said the focus this offseason was to get weapons for Josh Allen like Stefon Diggs and Zack Moss after it was apparent the team needed more weapons after the Wild Card loss to the Houston Texans.
