Week 7 – Jerry Hughes vs. Mekhi Becton

After playing the Jets once already, the second matchup becomes more about which team has progressed more during the five weeks in between their last matchup. This means that the outcome of this game will rely more heavily on the impact some key rookies make on each team.

The main matchup to look for is between that of Buffalo Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes and the Jets rookie tackle Mekhi Becton out of Louisville. Becton is a massive human that couples his strength with surprising speed and agility. However, it may not be enough to stop Bills speed rusher Jerry Hughes.

With the altered offseason and presumably abbreviated mini-camps, expect this years’ rookie class to take some extra time to adapt to the NFL.  With five more weeks of reps under his belt, Becton should be up to the task in Week 7 to combat the pass rushing moves of Jerry Hughes. This matchup is particularly intriguing because Hughes’ strength is his speed rush, while Becton’s is power.
