It remains to be seen if there will be a training camp for the Buffalo Bills this summer, or what it may look like, however Dan Quinn recently said that the Atlanta Falcons have had discussions about potential joint practices with the Bills.

If the Atlanta Falcons were to have joint practices with the Buffalo Bills they would take place in Western New York ahead of their preseason matchup in Week 2.

There is a familiarity between the two head coaches as Dan Quinn has been head coach of the Atlanta Falcons since 2015 and Sean McDermott was the defensive coordinator for the NFC South division rival, the Carolina Panthers for 2015 and 2016.

The Bills and Falcons also played each other during the 2017 season, which was Sean McDermott’s first as head coach, which the Bills won 23-17 in overtime.

Last season, the Buffalo Bills held joint practices with the Carolina Panthers ahead of their preseason matchup. These practices took place down in Spartanburg at Wofford College, which is the home of the Panthers’ training camp. The last time joint practices were held at St. John Fisher College, was back in 2015 when the Cleveland Browns came to practice before the preseason game.

In an offseason that is going to have limited on-field practices in comparison to year’s past, the added competition during training camp could be helpful.

It remains to be seen exactly what training camp will look like, or if this will even take place, but it appears that Sean McDermott and the coaching staff see the importance of joint practices with potentially them taking place in back to back years.
