Add depth at linebacker

This is one of the most well-rounded rosters the Buffalo Bills have had in probably close to three decades. They were able to bring back a majority of their starters from a season ago, complimented them with depth at key areas and created competition at others.

The biggest glaring need at this point, which isn’t necessarily crucial, has to be depth at linebacker. The team did add two linebackers this offseason with the free agent signings of A.J. Klein and Tyler Matakevich.

Klein is a veteran who has spent time with most recently the New Orleans Saints but before that the Carolina Panthers. He has experience in this defense, playing under Sean McDermott when he was defensive coordinator. While he is expected to replace Lorenzo Alexander, he could start in any position if the need arises.

As for Matakevich, he was added primarily due to his special teams work and has limited snaps over his four year career in defense. This is one of the reasons why the Bills should try to add one, or even two, more linebackers.

If the Bills can do this before the start of training camp, they have really addressed every need this roster had entering the offseason.
