Round 6, 207th overall: Isaiah Hodgins
The Buffalo Bills went back to wide receiver with their second pick in the sixth round by selecting Isaiah Hodgins out of Oregon State.
With the selection of another wide receiver, Buffalo tapped into the surplus of quality bodies available at that position. Hodgins is a different player than fourth-rounder, Gabriel Davis as he lacks the get-away speed that many top tier receivers have. Though this is a crutch for Hodgins, he showed the ability to make a play on the ball when given the chance. If he gets any reps during the Bills season, he could be more of a short-yardage option as he is not going to be able to get into the secondary as quickly as the team’s current options.
With that said, Hodgins could certainly make his presence felt on special teams as he shares a bloodline with his father, James Hodgins who was a former fullback for the St. Louis Rams and blocker for Hall of Famer, Marshall Faulk
With picks late in the draft, all the wide receiver talents start to become level. Buffalo could have used this selection towards a tight end in Hunter Bryant out of the University of Washington who was still available, a depth offensive lineman or a cornerback.
