Gabriel Davis

Player Comparison: Stevie Johnson

In the fourth round, the Bills elected to add some size at the wide receiver position and select Gabriel Davis out of UCF. At 6’2″ and 216 pounds he should give Josh Allen a big target down the sideline and let him capitalize on his big arm with the speed that Davis possesses.

One player that had a similar impact was Stevie Johnson, who the Bills selected in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Both wide receivers are 6’2″ and similar 40-yard dashes with Davis at 4.54 seconds and Johnson at 4.58 seconds.

The interesting comparison here is that both wide receiver had the same yards per catch average at 17.4 yards per catch their final year in college. Johnson really dominated the intermediate route game in the Bills offense and Davis could fill a similar role with deep posts and crosses.
