2000 NFL Draft – Erik Flowers (26th overall)

In 2000, the Buffalo Bills were coming off their heartbreaking loss to the Tennessee Titans in the playoffs but more importantly lost their franchise leader in sacks, Bruce Smith. The former first overall pick, who spent 15 years with the Bills, signed with the Washington Redskins as a free agent.

The Bills front office knew they needed help at the position and elected to draft Erik Flowers out Arizona State. However, Flowers time with the Bills was short lived as he played only two seasons for them and was waived prior to the 2002 season. He would end up being claimed by the Houston Texans and played their one season before finishing his career with the St. Louis Rams.

In total, Flowers played only five seasons in the league and finished with 57 total tackles and five sacks.
