Round 2 (63rd overall)

Original Selection: Dion Dawkins, OL (Temple)

Re-Draft Selection: Dion Dawkins, OL (Temple)

The Buffalo Bills elected to make a second trade in the second round, moving back in to select offensive lineman Dion Dawkins. The thought at the time of this selection was that Dawkins would be competing at the right tackle position and rightfully so.

The Bills were bringing back last year’s starter in Jordan Mills however they could certainly use an upgrade there. The team also had Cyrus Kouandjio and Seantrel Henderson but both had health issues and struggled to stay on the field.

However, he didn’t get a chance to see the field until a season ending injury to Cordy Glenn gave him a chance to start at left tackle. He would start 11 games there and become the permanent starter at left tackle the following season.

Dawkins had an up and down career with him struggling a bit in his second season. He did rebound last year and looks to be a long term answer at left tackle for the Buffalo Bills.
