Round 3, Pick 86: Troy Pride, Jr., CB (Notre Dame)

The Buffalo Bills stay on the defensive side of the ball in third round with the selection of Troy Pride Jr. out of Notre Dame.

The front office did add two cornerbacks in free agency with Josh Norman and E.J. Gaines, who are expected to compete with Levi Wallace for the starting job opposite Tre’Davious White. However, the focus this year is longevity and what players can contribute not only in 2020 but past this season.

The one thing that stood out reading the scouting report on The Draft Network for Troy Pride Jr. is his football IQ and how he could excel in zone coverage. This is something that the Buffalo Bills look for in their football players. He should immediately be able to step into the competition of the starting job and wouldn’t be surprising if he took over full-time at some point as a rookie.
