Round 2, Pick 54: Curtis Weaver, EDGE (Boise State)

At this point in the NFL Draft most of the top edge rushers are off the board including Chase Young, Yetur Gross-Matos, K’Lavon Chaisson and A.J. Epenesa. This leaves the Bills with the next best option which is Curtis Weaver out of Boise State.

This is not necessarily a bad thing but Weaver isn’t a finished product and will need time to develop. Which fits the Bills timeline here as they have veteran options currently on the roster in Addison, Hughes and Murphy that can carry a majority of the workload with Weaver inserted in spots that allows him to focus on just getting after the quarterback.

The Bills need to find a longer term answer at defensive end and that is what Curtis Weaver can give them past 2020.
