Cornelius Bennett

The next player on this list was a teammate of Bruce Smith and that is outside linebacker Cornelius Bennett. He could step into the vacancy left by the retirement of Lorenzo Alexander.

Bennett was drafted by the Colts but joined the Bills in a trade his rookie season and he went on to spend the next nine years from 1987 to 1995 with the franchise. Similar to Bruce Smith, Bennett won two NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards as well as five Pro Bowls and three first-team All-Pro selections.

Bennett was an exceptional linebacker in the NFL and during his time with the Bills he had 793 total tackles, 52.5 sacks and 19 forced fumbles. By inserting him into this linebacker group with Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano would give them a well-rounded group that doesn’t have much weakness.
