Round 2 (Pick 54): Brandon Aiyuk, WR (Arizona State)

The Buffalo Bills used their first round pick to acquire wide receiver Stefon Diggs and they go back to the position with their second round pick of Brandon Aiyuk, a wide receiver out of Arizona State.

The wide receiver may not necessarily be as much of a pressing need with the addition of Diggs, it doesn’t hurt to add depth to the position. Aiyuk is a quick wide receiver that has break away speed as evident by his 18.3 yards per catch average last season.

While Aiyuk may not get much playing time on offense as a rookie, barring an injury, his immediate impact will come on special teams. He was the Sun Devils’ primary return man and averaged 31.9 return yards per kickoff and 16.1 return yards per punt.

The value here was just too good to pass up and Brandon Aiyuk can have an immediate impact on special teams with an eye to a starting job in this offense in his second or third year.
