Final Grade

The Buffalo Bills continue to capitalize on their knowledge of the Carolina Panthers and their players when identifying free agents. These moves have sometimes worked out better than others (most fans want to forget Kelvin Benjamin) but this move feels very much in line with what the Bills did with Jordan Phillips.

Phillips was a high pick of the Miami Dolphins who fell out of favor but had plenty of potential. He finally reached that potential this past season with the Bills and parlayed it into a big contract with the Arizona Cardinals.

As for Butler, he received a little more compensation that Phillips did to start but also had more production at his previous stop. He is only 25 years of age and right now is not expected to step in as a starter.

Next. Buffalo Bills make right call extending Jordan Poyer now. dark

Any team would love to have a former first round pick, who is only 25 years of age and has starting experience as a depth option at a position. This is another solid move by Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills.
