Team Fit

The answer to how Mario Addison fits within this defense is an easy one to answer because Mario Addison has played in Sean McDermott’s defense when McDermott was defensive coordinator of the Panthers. He also played under Eric Washington, who was his defensive line coach from 2012 to 2017 and then defensive coordinator in 2018 and 2019.

These two coaches know what Mario Addison is capable of doing and how he fits within this defense. Addison also has plenty of experience playing in this system and has shown to be productive.

At this point, Mario Addison likely steps in as a starting defensive end opposite Jerry Hughes and this is exactly what the Bills needed at the position.
