Final Grade

When some Buffalo Bills fans heard the news that the team would be signing Josh Norman the initial reaction likely wasn’t a positive one. They will see analysis that will point to the fact that this past season Norman ranked 115 out of 119 cornerbacks in coverage according to Pro Football Focus.

However, his struggled could have been attributed to playing in an awful Redskins’ defense this past year. Now with the Bills, he is going to be returning to a defensive system that he excelled in while with the Panthers. This season Norman will no longer be expected to go up against the top wide receiver but rather match up against a team’s second option.

The Buffalo Bills need depth at the cornerback position and if Josh Norman at a minimum is looked at as depth, then this is a solid move. If Norman regains some magic from earlier in his career and becomes a starter, it will only make this move a better one.
