Kenny Willekes

One player who seems to be rising on draft boards, and will continue with a strong performance at the NFL Combine, is Michigan State’s Kenny Willekes. The redshirt senior carved out a role in the Spartans defense over the past three years and saw his sack totals steadily increase from seven in 2017 to 13.5 this past year.

Right now Willekes is likely projected to go in the middle rounds but that could change after the NFL Combine. The reason the defensive end is likely rising entering the Combine is because of a strong performance during the Senior Bowl after he registered two sacks.

It is worth noting that The Draft Network’s Joe Marino had an interesting player comparison in former Bills’ defensive end Chris Kelsey. He was with the Bills from 2003 to 2012 and was a quality depth player that had 32.5 career sacks.

If the Buffalo Bills bring back Shaq Lawson or sign another free agent defensive end before the NFL Draft, a player like Kenny Willekes could be the perfect addition to add to the rotation at defensive end.
