These are four defensive ends that the Buffalo Bills will likely be playing close attention to during next week’s NFL Combine.

The defensive end position is currently one that is influx for the Buffalo Bills and by the time the NFL Draft rolls around this may not be as much of a pressing need. However, with all the question the front office still has left to answer this is a position that should get plenty of attention from the Bills.

Entering this offseason, the Buffalo Bills have three key defensive ends under contract. At the top of the depth chart is Jerry Hughes, but he is 30 years old had a down year this past season and has gone through two offseason surgeries already.

After Hughes is Trent Murphy but at this point he is not a certainty to be on the roster in 2020 due to another subpar season and the fact the Bills can create substantial cap space with his release makes his place on this roster very shaky. This leaves only Darryl Johnson, a seventh round pick last year, as the final defensive end.

However, the Bills could re-sign Shaq Lawson, who is an unrestricted free agent, and keep Murphy and the depth at the position may not be as pressing for this season. That isn’t to say the Bills wouldn’t want to add another pass rusher or two to provide stability long term for the position.

These are four defensive ends that make sense for the Buffalo Bills to pay close attention to as they could be good fits for this defense.
