Yetur Gross-Matos

Many Bills fans will be pounding the table for the front office to take a receiver with their first pick, but what happens if a run at quarterback pushes a premier player down in the draft? If Yetur Gross-Matos is sitting there at 22 expect the Bills to draft him and wait till the second round to pick up a wide receiver with this draft being so deep at the position.

Yetur Gross-Matos is a 6’5″ 264 pound defensive end who might be the definition of the word effort. That’s what sticks out on tape, he never stops fighting using his length to back down smaller tackles and win at the point of attack. In 2019 he totaled 40 tackles and 9.5 sacks. Gross-Matos uses a bunch of different pass rushing moves but sometimes just relies on speed and strength alone.

Gross-Matos can easily pair up with Ed Oliver, helping the front four get younger and eventually replace Jerry Hughes. Being able to restock the edge of the defense is a huge need for the Buffalo Bills, as Hughes isn’t getting much younger and Shaq Lawson isn’t guaranteed to come back. Gross-Matos can become what Lawson was supposed to become under Rex Ryan.
