Round Three, Pick 86

With the Bills focusing on offense with the first two picks, a great defender falls to them in the third. Bradlee Anae is like a cage dog ready to get out. Every snap, every play, he’s relentless at the point of attack. Coaches say all the time that you can’t teach effort and Anae is overflowing with it.

Anae ended his junior year with a stat line of 41 total tackles, 13 sacks and one forced fumble. Anae proved at the Reese’s Senior Bowl that he wasn’t just a product of the PAC 12, having had a stand out performance in front of scouts and coaches alike notching 3 sacks. Anae might have had such an impact performance that he might not be there at pick 86.

Meanwhile the fit makes sense and the Buffalo Bills have already shown some interest in the defensive end and met with him during the Senior Bowl.

Anae’s biggest flaw might be his reach, and he can get bullied by longer tackles. That being said a mixture of different pass rushing moves along with his motor and instinct could counteract his weakness.

The Bills being able to add a rotational DE who has a nose for finding a quarterback and disrupting the play could be a recipe for success in Western New York.
