Adrian Peterson
The Buffalo Bills went the veteran route last year with Frank Gore and could follow a similar path this offseason with a back like Adrian Peterson. The former first round pick has bounced around the league a bit after his time with the Minnesota Vikings and played for the New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals and more recently been with the Washington Redskins the past two years.
He has had a bit of a late career surge with the Redskins with 1,940 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns the past two seasons. At 34 years of age, he hasn’t really shown any signs of slowing down.
The Bills could make sense for Peterson as well as he could share the workload with Singletary. This could allow the veteran to remain fresh over the entire season. While this may not be an issue, the Bills would need to accept that he is going to primarily be a runner and doesn’t provide much threat as a pass catcher out of the backfield.
A player like Adrian Peterson gives this offense with a short term solution to the running back depth issue they have this coming season.
