Free Agency Options

It is pretty much a given that the Bills will not be signing a top name free agent at the quarterback position. They don’t need to and the money would be better served elsewhere.

However, there are some options that are younger, development type players that could be an option to replace Matt Barkley after the 2020 season.

One option may be to bring back Tyree Jackson, who was signed as an undrafted free agent last year out of the University of Buffalo. During his time in the preseason, he looked very raw but has some physical tools that the coaching staff could utilize. Jackson is currently signed with DC Defenders in the XFL and with a good showing, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Jackson back with the Bills.

If the Bills elect to not pursue a free agent quarterback, there will be plenty of intriguing options late in the upcoming NFL Draft that will likely be the direction the team goes to address the third quarterback.
