Most Improved Player

Winner: Jordan Phillips

There is no question that the one player who improved the most from 2018 to this past season is defensive tackle Jordan Phillips. The Bills signed Phillips midway through the 2018 season after he was released by the Miami Dolphins. The former second round pick had the talent but never was able to be a consistent performer.

Prior to the 2019 season, Phillips had only 5.5 sacks in five seasons but broke out with 9.5 sacks this season. He was the Bills leader in this category and accounted for 22% of the Bills total sacks this past season.

Jordan Phillips was one of the top performers on this Bills defense and was one of the main reasons for them being considered one of the top defenses in the NFL.
