Buffalo Bills: Player grades for the 2019 Bills’ defense
Safety
Micah Hyde
Micah Hyde just completed his third season with the Buffalo Bills and finished with 72 total tackles, two forced fumbles and one interception. He is one of the steadiest players in this defense and the fact that he isn’t flashy, his play can sometimes be taken for granted. He is one of the leaders on this defense and was a big reason the Bills seem to finish each year as one of the top pass defenses in the league.
Grade: B+
Jordan Poyer
Alongside Hyde is safety Jordan Poyer, who joined the Bills the same time as Hyde and they have become of the best safety duos in the NFL. The seven year veteran is a tackling machine and finished second on the Bills with 107 total tackles, which was the second consecutive year with over 100 tackles.
In addition to the tackles, Poyer forced three fumbles and had two interceptions. One of the reasons this defense works so well, is that all these players compliment each other so well and fans need to look no further than this safety duo.
