Running Back

Devin Singletary

The Bills’ front office certainly gambled at the start of the year by turning the keys over to rookie Devin Singletary after releasing long time Bill, LeSean McCoy. After a slow start, including missing time due to an injury, Singletary rewarded the organizations trust with a great rookie season.

He finished the year with 775 rushing yards, an average of 5.1 rushing yards per carry, which was tied for the lead league among running backs with at least 150 carries. He also had 194 receiving yards and four total touchdowns.

Singletary improved as the season went on and he should continue to live up to his nickname of Motor for this offense next year.

Grade: B+

Frank Gore

The 15-year veteran was the perfect compliment to have in this offense alongside Singletary. He finished the year with 599 rushing yards and two touchdowns. However, his veteran presence in the locker room and on the sideline for the rookie is not able to be captured in the box score but is equally as important.

The coaching staff also leaned on the veteran in high pressure situations, especially late when the Bills were trying to close out games. More times than not, he answered the call and played well.

The question for Gore is if this past season was his final year in an exceptional career. If it isn’t, the front office should make it a point to bring him back next season.

Grade: B
