The Buffalo Bills signed 10 players to reserve/future free agents including preseason breakout star Christian Wade.
The Buffalo Bills season ended less than two days ago but the front office has already gotten to work. On Monday, they announced the signing of 10 reserve/future free agents including quarterback Davis Webb, running back Christian Wade and wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud.
While the new NFL year doesn’t start until March, teams are able to sign players now but are essentially added once the new year begins and NFL rosters expand to 90 players.
In addition to the three players listed above, the Bills also signed tight end Nate Becker, linebacker Tyrel Dodson, wide receiver Nick Easley, cornerback Cam Lewis, linebacker Del’Shawn Phillips, offensive tackle Victor Salako, defensive end Jonathan Woodard.
All ten players were part of the Bills practice squad this past season.
There is no question that fans will be most excited to see what Christian Wade is able to do this summer and into preseason. He joined the Bills last year as part of the NFL International Player Pathway Program after a career in rugby.
The transition seemed to be almost seamless for Wade as he took his first career carry for a 65-yard touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts in the first preseason game. It will be interesting to see how Wade has developed over the year while with the Bills.
Another interesting signing is Ray-Ray McCloud, who was a sixth round draft pick by the Bills in 2018. However, he was released prior to the 2019 season and was signed by the Carolina Panthers but waived midseason.
He re-joined the Bills shortly after and was apart of their practice squad the remainder of the year. He played a key role in the Bills preparation prior to their game against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
