The Buffalo Bills take on the New England Patriots in Week 16. These will be the most important matchups as they look to get revenge for a Week 4 defeat.

It’s the biggest game of the season for the Buffalo Bills as they take on the New England Patriots for the second time this season. Their first meeting went New England’s way as they handed Buffalo their first loss, making them 3-1 at the time.

Each team has continued to play well since then and are No. 1 and 2 in the AFC East. New England (11-3) has a slight edge over Buffalo (10-4) but also has the head to head tiebreaker right now.

Should the Bills find a way to win, they will then hope for Miami to beat the Pats while they go on to face the New York Jets in Week 17.

With all that being said, we look ahead to the game itself and identify the three matchups that Buffalo needs to win in order to get the victory.

3. Singletary/Gore vs. Patriots defensive line

Frank Gore is not the leading rusher any longer as Devin Singletary is the man right now. However, when these teams met in September, it was Gore who gashed the Patriots defensive line to the tune of 109 yards.

He averaged over six yards per rush and was a huge reason Buffalo stayed close in this one. Now, Singletary is healthy and available to carry the load.

His fresh legs should help a lot but it would be nice to see Gore get a few carries as well — especially if he can find similar success.

The Buffalo defense is going to do what they can to keep it close. The offense can help them by controlling the clock which will be up to these two running backs.
