Dud: Josh Allen

It wasn’t all his fault but Josh Allen still makes this list as a dud for the Bills. Week 14 clearly wasn’t his best game even though he did settle down after a slow start.

On the Bills opening drive, Allen missed John Brown on a deep pass. He was facing a third-and-four and instead of looking for the short pass, he aired it out to the deep threat. Brown had a step but the ball was five yards over his head.

Their second drive ended in a similar fashion as Robert Foster got deep on his guy but Allen missed him on the third-and-12 pass. Drive No. 3 had a third overthrow as tight end Dawson Knox was open but Allen missed him.

From there, he started to calm down and part of the problem could have been the crazy wind which he seemed to figure out. Still, Allen had just 146 yards passing but was good on just 17-of-39 pass attempts and lost a fumble. He was also unable to get anything done with his legs, gaining just nine yards.

It’s hard to be mad at Allen because he had no quit in him. He found a way to shake off the slow start and he even survived a barrage of quarterback hits as well as an apparent ankle injury late in the second quarter.

Still, this wasn’t his best outing and he would surely say the same thing.
