The Buffalo Bills have already ruled three players out ahead of their Week 4 matchup with the New England Patriots.
The Buffalo Bills have been preparing for their toughest opponent of the 2019 season, New England Patriots. Unfortunately for them they are also entering this week with the most players on their injury report.
On Friday, the Bills announced that tight end Tyler Kroft and linebacker Corey Thompson will miss Sunday’s game against the Patriots. It is no surprise that Thompson was ruled out as he had ankle surgery earlier this week.
As for Kroft, he is still trying to get on the field for his first game as a Buffalo Bill. The veteran tight end suffered a broken foot during OTAs and missed the entire preseason but looked to be heading in the right direction at the start of the season.
After a full practice last week, the hope was that he would be ready to go against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, an ankle injury during practice derailed those plans and he missed the game last week. He didn’t practice at all this week and will have to wait until at least next week against the Titans but the more likely scenario is the team will be cautious and wait until after the bye week.
In addition to the two players ruled out, the Bills listed seven players as questionable. The notable players in this group is obviously Taron Johnson and Devin Singletary, two players who could play key roles against the Patriots.
Johnson has been dealing with a hamstring injury that he suffered in the season opener against the Jets. He was the team’s starting nickel and this would be a great time for him to be back since he will be tasked with covering Julian Edelman.
If Johnson misses the game against the Patriots, the Bills will likely go with the trio of Siran Neal, Kevin Johnson and Dean Marlowe.
On the offensive side of the ball, Devin Singletary is an explosive play maker out of the backfield for this team. He has shown an ability to not only break long runs but be a factor in the passing game as well.
If Singletary is not able to play, the Bills once again will lean on Frank Gore and T.J. Yeldon. For the full injury report for the Buffalo Bills, click here.
