The Buffalo Bills had ruled three players out on Friday and these are the other players joining them as inactive in Week 3.
Entering Sunday, the Buffalo Bills knew they were going to be without tight end Tyler Kroft, running back Devin Singletary and cornerback Taron Johnson. In addition to this three, the team also named safety Jaquan Johnson, offensive linemen Ike Boettger, Ryan Bates, and Conor McDermott as inactive ahead of today’s game with the Cincinnati Bengals.
The loss of Singletary is probably the most significant. The third round rookie has looked great through the first two games as a change of pace back and complimentary piece to Frank Gore. He brings a level of explosiveness that this offense needs from the running back position. He currently is averaging 12.7 yards per rush and was a key piece to the team’s comeback in Week 1 against the New York Jets.

It is also a little disappointing that fans won’t get to see Tyler Kroft against his former team. The Bills signed Kroft as a free agent this offseason but he suffered a broken foot during OTAs. He was likely on track to return this week however he suffered an ankle injury during practice this week which keeps him out today.
This is also the second week in a row that the Bills will be without Taron Johnson, who suffered a hamstring injury against the Jets. He was the team’s starting nickel and the Bills once again will likely use a combination of Siran Neal and Dean Marlowe at the nickel position.
The good news for the Bills is who is active, which is kick returner Andre Roberts. The former Pro Bowl returner was signed by the team as a free agent this past offseason. He had been dealing with a quad injury that forced him to miss the first two games of the season but he will be able to go today.
The Buffalo Bills will play their first home game of the season at 1 PM today against the Cincinnati Bengals.
