Home Opener Comeback

This wasn’t The Comeback, but it certainly was an exciting game for fans in attendance as the Buffalo Bills came from 18 points down to beat the Oakland Raiders in 2011.

The team had fallen behind 21-3 by halftime but went on to score 21 straight points to take a 24-21 lead at the start of the fourth quarter. The two teams traded touchdowns but with 14 seconds left in the game Ryan Fitzpatrick found David Nelson for a touchdown that gave them a 38-35 lead.

This was not a game of defense as the two teams combined for over 900 total yards with Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing for 264 and three touchdowns. The duo of Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller found plenty of room to work on the ground, combining for 180 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

This game was played in Week 2 and the Bills did go on to win the following week over the New England Patriots to move to 3-0. Coincidentally, this was the last time the Buffalo Bills started the year with three wins, a streak this team hopes to end against the Bengals.
