Mitch Morse/Quinton Spain

Before Aaron Donald burst onto the scene, the Bengals had the premier defensive tackle in the league with Geno Atkins. The 10-year veteran has been a pass rushing force from the interior of the defensive line with 71 sacks in his career, with 39 of them just in the past four seasons.

This certainly presents a challenge for the Buffalo Bills offensive line, in particular center Mitch Morse and left guard Quinton Spain. These two players will likely line up the most across from Atkins on Sunday at New Era Field.

The offensive line went through a major overhaul in the offseason and even though this starting group didn’t get a chance to play in a game until the first game of the regular season, the early returns have been positive. The offense has been averaging 4.7 yards per carry in the first two games and Josh Allen has been sacked only four times.

While it isn’t common to face a defensive tackle that can have such an impact on the outcome of the game, Geno Atkins is one of those players. This will be a big challenge for Morse and Spain and the offense will need a strong performance from them.
