Jerry Hughes

One of the best ways to disrupt a Bengals offense that has weapons at both wide receiver and running back, is to get penetration and pressure the quarterback. This is a game that has all the makings for Jerry Hughes to make an impact and potentially have a multi-sack game.

The two players listed on the Bengals depth chart at left tackle are Cordy Glenn and Andre Smith. However, neither player practiced on Wednesday as Glenn is in the concussion protocol and Smith is dealing with a groin injury suffered in Week 2.

At 31 years of age, Jerry Hughes continues to prove he is the team’s best pass rusher. He had seven sacks last year and through the first two games of this season already has 1.5 sacks. This defense will need to get a steady pass rush on Andy Dalton to avoid the big pass play and not allow him time in the pocket.

If Glenn or Smith is not available for this game, this is a match up that has to favor Hughes.
