John Brown is the wide receiver this offense was missing

Last year, the wide receiver position was one of the weakest on the team and one of the reasons was they didn’t have a player who could be that top receiver, the one player Josh Allen could look to in pivotal situations and trust he will make the play.

For the second straight week, John Brown has proven that he is that receiver. He led the Bills for the second straight week in targets and had seven receptions for 72 yards against the Giants, after seven receptions for 142 yards and a touchdown against the Jets.

The 29 year old has shown flashes of being this type of player during his time with the Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens. However, he has primarily been considered a vertical threat in his career and in the first two games of this season, he is showing he has a much more defined route tree.

The connection Josh Allen and John Brown have shown, and the trust Allen has in Brown, is going to help this offense take that next step in 2019.
