Defensive Line

While the Bills’ defense as a whole played well, it was the defensive line that really set the tone. They controlled the line of scrimmage almost the entire game from containing Le’Veon Bell and this run game to constant pressure on Sam Darnold.

They had 2.5 of the Bills four sacks with Jerry Hughes accounting for 1.5 and Shaq Lawson adding one of his own. However, they also got a constant push from the middle of this line with players like Ed Oliver and Jordan Phillips penetrating through the line to collapse the pocket.

The fact this group is talented across the entire line, and have depth to rotate in throughout the course of the game, is going to cause problems for almost every offensive line they go up against.
