The Buffalo Bills enter Sunday against the New York Jets fairly healthy, although they did rule one player out and one player doubtful.

The Buffalo Bills have dealt with more than their fair share of injuries through training camp and the preseason. The two position groups hit the hardest was the offensive line and the tight end position as they say players like Mitch Morse, Ty Nsehke, Dawson Knox, Jason Croom and Tyler Kroft miss significant time.

The good news though is the injuries occurred early enough in the summer that they are entering their first regular season game of the 2019 season rather healthy compared to where they were a few weeks ago.

On Friday, the Bills ruled wide receiver/kick returner Andre Roberts out and tight end Tyler Kroft as doubtful. The injury to Roberts was a bit of a surprise as the quad injury seemed to pop up just this week. This could be a big issue for the return game as Roberts, a Pro Bowler last season, was expected to be the team’s starting kickoff and punt return man.

On the team’s depth chart, they list Micah Hyde as the second team punt returner and Devin Singletary as the backup return man on kickoffs.

As for Tyler Kroft, it is actually a little surprising to see him listed as doubtful and not ruled out. The Bills signed Kroft as a free agent this offseason and in one of the first OTAs he suffered a broken foot, the same foot he broke last year. He was forced to miss the entire preseason as he recovers from the injury.

Even though Kroft is listed as doubtful, which is a good sign, it would be very surprising to see him on the field against the New York Jets. He will most likely be inactive for Sunday’s game.
